TASTING NOTES

Production

Irpinia Aglianico “Dal Re” is made from selected Aglianico grapes harvested by hand in Irpinia. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with maceration lasting approximately 2–3 weeks, followed by ageing comprising 6 months in French oak barriques and a further 6 months in the bottle before release.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Bright ruby red in colour, the wine offers aromas of black cherry, raspberry, liquorice and sweet spices on the nose. On the palate, it is smooth and balanced, with soft tannins and a pleasant, well-defined finish.

Occasion and Pairing

Thanks to its harmonious profile, it pairs beautifully with soups and broths, meat-based first courses, roasts, mature cheeses and rustic dishes with a soft yet flavourful texture.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Feudi di San Gregorio

Producer of fine Campanian wines, the Feudi di San Gregorio winery represents its land, Irpinia, in the province of Avellino at its best. Recognized as a symbol of the rebirth of the south from an oenological point of view, it is also a representation of a deeply rooted drinking culture that rediscovers the flavours of the Mediterranean and their essence. Aimed at researching the enormous potential that the area offers and at preserving tradition, today the winery can count on over 300 hectares of vineyards between both owned and rented vineyards. In these territories, which extend between 350 and 700 metres above sea level, the vineyards have always been flanked by orchards, olive groves and woods. The soils are predominantly volcanic and give life to genetically unique plants. The environmental balance is always at the centre of attention during all the winemaking processes, as is also demonstrated by the rooms in which these take place. Among the municipalities of Tufo, Santa Paolina and Taurasi, important designations are produced such as the white wines Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo. From the renovation of the spaces, which took place in 2004, derived from research to bring together tradition with modern production technologies, specific winemaking facilities were created. The “Dubl” sparkling wines have a specific room, which then leads to a barrel cellar where you can find the red wines such as Taurasi. Every single space is designed to blend harmoniously into the land and to maintain a balanced impact on the environment. Name and address of producer/distributor: Feudi di San Gregorio - Località Cerza Grossa, 83050 Sorbo Serpico AV. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
