TASTING NOTES

Production

Franciacorta Brut from Ferghettina is born in the heart of Franciacorta from selected grapes from its own vineyards, grown with great attention to quality and respect for the territory. The blend is composed mainly of Chardonnay, with a share of Pinot Noir, collected manually and subjected to soft pressing to preserve its finesse and elegance. The first fermentation takes place in steel at a controlled temperature, while the foam setting follows the Classical Method, with a long refermentation in the bottle and a refinement on the yeasts that gives complexity and structure. The Brut dosage is designed to ensure a balance between freshness, softness and expressive precision.

Organoleptic Characteristics

It appears bright straw yellow in color, with a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose it is elegant and harmonious, with scents of white-fleshed fruit, apple and pear, accompanied by citrus, floral notes and delicate hints of bread crust and yeast. On the palate it is fresh and enveloping, with a creamy bubble, a pleasant savouriness and a balanced and persistent finish, which invites you to take the next sip.

Occasion and Pairing

Versatile and refined Franciacorta, ideal as an aperitif but also perfect for a full meal. It pairs beautifully with fish dishes, shellfish, sushi, delicate first courses, white meats and fresh or medium-aged cheeses.

Serving Temperature

To best enhance its freshness and elegance, a service temperature of 6/8°C is recommended.

THE WINERY

Ferghettina

The Ferghettina winery was founded in Lombardy in 1991 from the work of Roberto Gatti and his family, driven by love for the hills of Franciacorta. The cornerstone for the production of this designation and beyond, the Ferghettina wines, with their deep and fine character and their fragrances, are synonymous with safety and quality. Roberto began his production in 1990, thanks to his knowledge on viticulture and the most modern winemaking techniques. His work initially took place on 4 hectares of land in Ebrusco. The first two wines that launch it onto the market come from here: the red Terre di Franciacorta and a White wine. It was from the following year that the story of what is now the Ferghettina’s key product began: Franciacorta Brut. Over the years, the estate has expanded. From those initial 4 hectares, he now manages around 200. They occupy territories that extend over 11 municipalities of Franciacorta, located between Lake Sebino and the Alps. The variety of land used for vines and a organic cultivation regime, together with the extreme care given to the processing thanks to manual work, guarantee that intrinsic quality and that unmistakable style that characterize the wines of the Ferghettina estate. Name and address of producer/distributor: Ferghettina - via Saline, 11, 25030 Adro BS. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
