TASTING NOTES

Production

Col Vetoraz is situated atop the Cartizze hills, in the heart of Valdobbiadene’s finest wine-growing area, where the steep pre-Alpine slopes shelter the vineyards from cold winds and create a natural amphitheatre perfect for viticulture and the production of quality wines. It was in 1993 that Francesco Miotto took the reins of the existing family business, giving rise to Col Vetoraz, a winery that established itself within a few years as one of the leading producers of Prosecco Valdobbiadene DOCG. The Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Superiore Extra Dry embodies the classic prototype of Prosecco, striking a balance between smooth textures and a fresh palate. Produced from 100% Glera grapes, typically fresh and rich in aromas thanks to the significant temperature variations caused by the proximity to the Pre-Alpine hills, it is an immediate and fruity sparkling wine that is always a delight. Organoleptic Characteristics

With a bright straw-yellow colour and fine bubbles, the nose offers aromas of white flowers and white-fleshed fruit, with a subtle hint of citrus. On the palate, it strikes a fine balance between soft textures—derived from the fruit as well as the light dosage of sugar—and a refreshing minerality.

Occasion and Pairing

With its simple flavour, it is always an excellent choice for a refreshing aperitif or to accompany light dishes.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.

THE WINERY

Col Vetoraz

On the highest point of the Cartizze hill, in the heart of the Vadobbiadene DOCG area, stands the Col Vetoraz winery. Its strategic position, at an altitude of almost 400 metres, offers not only enchanting scenery but also, and most importantly, wonderfully fertile land that is perfect for the production of high-quality Veneto wines. The history of this winery is very interesting and has remote origins. Since the first half of the 19th century, the Miotto family has been involved in the development of vine-growing (Prosecco Superiore and Cartizze Superiore), maintaining the traditions of the time. Over time, thanks also to innovations, the family has been able to keep itself refreshed and keep up with the times without losing any of its history. Respect for the oldest techniques, scrupulous production methods and great care for the vineyards and the production of the grand cuvées has enabled the company to create wines of excellence, obtaining all kinds of recognition, including five Grand Gold Medals at the Vinitaly Competition. Name and address of producer/distributor: Col Vetoraz - Strada delle Treziese, 1, 31049 S. Stefano di Valdobbiadene TV. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
