TASTING NOTES

Bianco Veronese di Ca' La Bionda is made from Trebbiano and Garganega grapes, cultivated on a calcareous-silty soil with a good presence of stones and rocks that give the wine great freshness and elegance, essential characteristics for long-lived wines. The grapes are harvested in boxes, destemmed and gently pressed to extract only the flower must. The latter ferments in oak barrels and the wine obtained remains on the lees for about 10 months to age. It is a very complex wine, with a distinct minerality and a truly unique taste and aromatic length for an Italian white wine. A white suitable to accompany lunches and dinners every day with light dishes, cold cuts and soft cheeses. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 10/12 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Ca' La Bionda

In the heart of the historic Valpolicella Classico area, in the municipality of Marano di Valpolicella, lies the Ca' La Bionda winery. Founded in 1902 by Pietro Castellani who always had a great passion for the cultivation of his vines and the vinification of his grapes, the estate covers an area of 29 hectares in the hills, on clay soil at an altitude of between 150 and 300 metres, and with a south-eastern exposure, a favourable position for ripening grapes. The quality of the wines is the result of a family tradition in which passion and sacrifice have gone hand in hand. For more than four generations, the winegrowers and winemakers of the company have dedicated themselves to the processes of cultivating, harvesting, vinification and marketing of Ca' la Bionda products, paying particular attention to the phases of natural drying of the grapes destined for the great wines: Recioto and Amarone, and subsequent ageing in special oak barrels. In the vineyard owned by Piero Castellani, current owner and namesake of the founder, no herbicides or chemical fertilisers are used, and dry stone walls have been restored to create terraces favourable to good maturation of the grapes for the creation of fine red wines from the Veneto region. Name and address of producer/distributor: Ca' la Bionda - Via Bionda, 4, 37020 Marano di Valpolicella VR. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
