Maeli is a small winery that has successfully managed to create a one-of-a-kind product. Producer Elisa Dilavanzo has debunked the myth that Moscato Giallo was only considered a sweet sparkling wine for the end of a meal, and after years of study, she has proposed an intriguing line of labels, all based on Moscato Giallo, expressing the versatility of a grape variety. In fact, Maeli is the only winery to have interpreted Moscato Giallo in five different versions. The winery stretches out within the Euganean Hills Regional Park, in the heart of Veneto. The microclimate of the area, with the Venetian lagoon on one side and the Dolomites on the other, creates a very suitable environment for producing Moscato Giallo. The vineyards are located on two sides of the Euganean Hills: the northern part is favoured for the production of Moscato Giallo, with soils mainly composed of marly scales and limestone rocks, while in the south we find red grapes such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and native varieties. Moscato Giallo, a white grape variety from Veneto, expresses itself on the volcanic soils of the Euganean Hills with finesse, elegance and longevity, distinguishing itself from any other Moscato in the world. Maeli's Moscato Giallo igt Dilì is a sparkling wine from Veneto made from Moscato Giallo grapes, obtained by re-fermentation in the bottle using the traditional method. The wine has golden yellow hues and slight orange reflections. The slight cloudiness is the result of the presence of the suspended yeasts with which the wine was bottled, according to traditional methods. On the nose, the aromas reveal a pleasing intensity, with scents of flowers and yellow fruit such as ripe apple. On the palate, softness is balanced by a pleasant sensation of acidity, followed by an appreciable sulphurous note; it's a drinkable bubbly. An ideal everyday wine, it complements cured meats such as Soppressa, a typical salami from the Veneto region.
