TASTING NOTES

Villa Franciacorta is a small medieval village that dates back to 1500. It is located in the municipality of Monticelli Brusati, where the Bianchi family decided to focus on the production of Metodo Classico Franciacorta DOCG wines in the nineteen-sixties. The company is among the oldest and most historic in the area and today boasts 37 hectares of vineyards, mostly in the municipality of Monticelli Brusati and a few dozen in neighbouring municipalities. The soil where the plants grow is not morainic like most of the DOC zone but of marine origin, rich in fossils and minerals with a good clay component that allows the roots to go deep to seek water and the conditions necessary to produce high-quality fruit. The farm is located close to the Madonna della Rosa hill, where oak, heather and juniper forests grow at the top, contributing to the local microclimate. The vineyards are organised in purpose-built terraces and under the hill there are the galleries where around a million bottles are stored. The silence, constant temperature and lack of light allow the wine to age in ideal conditions. A distinctive feature is the decision to produce only vintage Franciacorta, so each bottle is made entirely or almost entirely from grapes harvested in the same year and all wines start with a minimum of 30 months sur lie. This is to emphasise territoriality and follow climatic trends through the harvests. Villa Franciacorta Rosé is a faithful exaltation of the Pinot Noir of the village. First fermentation in stainless steel and 36 months on yeasts. Pale pink in colour, on the nose it expresses an irresistible bouquet of red fruit and rose petals with reminiscences of bread crust and butter. On the palate it is delicate but full with a nice perlage that cleanses the palate. With great freshness and elegance, it is capable of seducing the senses as soon as it hits the palate. A wine to drink as an aperitif with friends and companions, but also to accompany lake fish dishes, or even white meats or chicken salads. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Villa Franciacorta

Located a few kilometers from Brescia, in Monticelli Brusati, one of the most renowned areas in Franciacorta, the farm Villa Franciacorta expresses the unique terroir of its land through its high quality wines. The founding family, still at the helm of the company, works with great respect for nature and the surrounding territory, highlighting these qualities in its high-quality Lombard wines. The strong identity of Villa wines, the passion for culture and family traditions, as well as the search for continuous innovations, distinguish the Lombardy Villa wines. The farm’s philosophy is based on respect for nature and the surrounding environment, the pursuit of excellence and passion for wine. The Villas vinify only grapes from their own cru and sell only the finest Franciacorta DOCG, the result of the best harvests. Today the cellars of Villa Franciacorta contain more than 1,000,000 bottles of Franciacorta, preserved thanks to the natural temperature of the subsoil, protected from light, temperature changes and noise. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Villa Franciacorta - Via Villa, 12 - 25040 Monticelli Brusati (BS). The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
