TASTING NOTES

Production

The Champagne Brut La Grande Dame by Veuve Clicquot is a high-class millesimé cuvée, made from a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, sourced from the Grand Cru vineyards of Verzy, Verzé, and Bouzy. It follows the traditional method with bottle fermentation and 8 years of maturation on the lees. Produced only in exceptional vintages, it reflects the excellence and pioneering vision of Madame Clicquot, the "Grande Dame" of Champagne. Valori Nutrizionali: E (100ml) = 314kJ/75kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

The Champagne Brut La Grande Dame has a bright golden yellow color with subtle reflections. The aroma is intense and complex, with notes of ripe fruit (white peach, pear), white flowers (jasmine), and hints of toasted hazelnuts and delicate spices. On the palate, it is elegant and well-structured, with a perfect balance between acidity and freshness. The finish is long, refined, and persistent, with a aftertaste of dried fruit and minerality.

Occasion and Pairing

The Champagne Brut La Grande Dame pairs perfectly with refined dishes such as raw seafood, oysters, white meats, elegantly prepared fish, soft cheeses, and more complex dishes like creamy shrimp risotto or light game. It is ideal for special occasions and elegant celebrations such as formal events, anniversaries, birthdays, and sophisticated parties.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8/10°C.

THE WINERY

Veuve Clicquot

In 1805, the young Madame Clicquot suddenly became widowed. At only 27 years old, she took over the reins of the house founded in 1772 by her late husband. Guided by her great passion and ability for excellence, she created her first Champagne vintage in 1810. In addition to reflecting exceptional savoir-faire, the production process of Veuve Clicquot Champagne has always been very creative, based mainly on the blending of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier grapes. One quality, the best. This is the spirit of Maison Veuve Clicquot. Today, the house owns some 390 hectares of vineyards, spread over Grand Cru and Premier Cru in Champagne and characterised by chalky soil, responsible for the mineral notes of the Champagne Clicquot cuvées. Since 2002, the house has adopted organic and sustainable viticulture, applied from vine cultivation to vinification and maturation activities. Name and address of producer/distributor: Veuve Clicquot, 12, rue du Temple, 51100 Reims - France. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
