TASTING NOTES

The company Pira Luigi is linked to the hills of Serralunga d'Alba from the late nineteenth century. The winery has been run for five generations, but tramples the same land with the same castle on the horizon. An intense, robust, austere Barolo, but at the same time harmonious and balanced. It is the cru of Serralunga par excellence, undoubtedly among the most known and appreciated MGA. The vinification of Barolo Vignarionda takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for about 18/20 days. The aging lasts 24 months, including the first year in French oak barriques of 225 liters and the second year in large Slavonian oak barrels. The color is intense garnet red. The nose is striking for its great complexity, elegance, nuances ranging from berries to sweet tobacco, deep and intriguing balsamic hints. The palate is a rich, harmonious wine, with an extraordinary persistence. Ideal if paired with red meat dishes or even with a first course with meat sauce.
