TASTING NOTES

Production

After fermentation, maceration takes place for a period ranging from one to one and a half months, with continuous pumping over. The final two weeks are spent in the dark, with the cap submerged. The red wine is then aged in large barrels of between 25 and 50 hl for approximately two years. This is followed by further stabilisation in the bottle for about a year.

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it displays the classic garnet colour, with orange hues driven by fruits ranging from blueberry to redcurrant, against a balsamic, almost minty, backdrop that gives way to sweet spices. It enters the mouth with power, then unfolds in all its delicacy, where the composed tannins support the fullness of the palate.

Occasion and Pairing

A wine to serve at a Sunday lunch when we wish to treat our guests, taking care to serve substantial dishes of red meat, braised roasts and game as the centrepiece of the meal. It can also be successfully paired with dry pastries to round off the meal.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

THE WINERY

Garesio

The wines from Piedmont are known far and wide. The Garesio winery and its products are certainly an example that well explains why. The passion that the family puts into production right from the start is a guarantee of quality and the continuous search for places to ensure the best wine production. With its 20 hectares of vineyards, the company aims for winemaking choices that can enhance the land where the grapes come from, the size of the crus and the distinctiveness of the individual grape varieties. The production of Garesio wines originates in the areas ranging from Serralunga d'Alba, in the heart of the Langhe cultivated with Barolo, to Incisa Scapacchio, Monferrato up to Perletto in Alta Langa. Cultivation takes place with respect for nature, with human interventions reduced to a minimum and studied in detail. The attention to the environment is also evident in the cultivation of Nebbiolo grapes, entirely certified organic, and of all the others, produced with sustainable integrated method. The quality of the wines is also ensured thanks to winemaking processes that take place with traditional methods, but with the help of the best modern technologies, which preserve the purity of the product variety. Furthermore, each harvest is maximized: the vinification is adapted according to the vintage, in order to highlight its distinctive characteristics. Name and address of producer/distributor: Garesio - Località Sordo, 1, 12050 Serralunga D'alba CN. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
