The company Pira Luigi is linked to the hills of Serralunga d'Alba from the late nineteenth century. The winery has been run for five generations, but tramples the same land with the same castle on the horizon. Barolo Marenza is the cru of the company, which most represents it. Barolo Marenca is vinified in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for about 18/20 days. The aging has a duration of 24 months, of which the first year in tonneaux in French oak 500 liters and the second year in large barrels in Slavonian oak, 25 hl. Barolo Marenca has an intense garnet red color. The nose is striking for its freshness and for the great complexity of the aromas, ranging from berries, vanilla and chocolate, to aromatic herbs. The palate is very vigorous, rich in extracts, with lively tannins, but pleasant, softened by the wise use of wood. It is a powerful and intriguing Barolo, with a long life. Ideal if paired with red meat dishes or even with a first course with meat sauce. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC.
