TASTING NOTES

Production

Barolo Marenca is vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for approximately 18–20 days. Ageing lasts 24 months, with the first year spent in 500-litre French oak tonneaux and the second year in large 250-litre Slavonian oak barrels.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Barolo Marenca has an intense garnet-red colour. On the nose, it impresses with its freshness and the great complexity of its aromas, ranging from wild berries to vanilla and chocolate, right through to aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is very vigorous, rich in extracts, with lively yet pleasant tannins, softened by the skilful use of oak. It is a powerful and intriguing Barolo with great ageing potential.

Occasion and Pairing

Ideal paired with red meat dishes or even a pasta dish with meat sauce.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

The Planeta winery has been producing wines for generations. The family's tradition and passion has been passed down for decades, and is still the main engine that connects each stage of processing. The company boasts six different estates located in six different parts of Sicily, each of which is committed to creating Sicilian wines of the highest quality. The Ulmo estate is located in Sambuca di Sicilia, while the processing of the Dispensa estate takes place in Menfi. The Dorilli winery is located in Vittoria, while Buonivini operates in Noto.
