TASTING NOTES

Production

The grapes for Marcenasco are hand-harvested in October, fermented in stainless steel, and left on the skins for about a week. Around November, the wine is transferred to oak barrels to undergo malolactic fermentation. It then undergoes a 2-year aging process in 25 and 50 hL oak barrels before bottling.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Ratti's Barolo is a long-lived wine that evolves and surprises over time. It presents an intense garnet color, with aromas of licorice, forest floor, and oriental spices. The taste is fresh, with great fullness and virility, offering a powerful yet elegant drinking experience.

Occasion and Pairing

Perfect when paired with dishes based on red meat, blue cheeses, roasts, or slow-cooked stews. Ideal for enjoying in great company.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16-18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Ratti Renato

The Ratti winery is located not far from La Morra, in the province of Cuneo, in the very heart of the Barolo territory, amidst the gentle contours of the area's hills and the finest vineyards. It is located within the Abbey of Annunziata, and still boasts a production that is closely attached to ancient local traditions. The production of wines mainly follows the teachings of the monks who have inhabited the Abbey over the centuries. The few additions of the most advanced techniques have been carefully chosen to allow the final product to bring out the best of the unique properties of the soil and its most precious grapes. The end result? Some Piedmontese wines that are rich in character, strong and decisive, but at the same time elegant and fragrant, capable of narrating not only the best of the territory, but also the oldest history of the area. In addition to Barolo, the winery also boasts a large production of Nebbiolo and fine grappas, all to be discovered. Name and address of producer/distributor: Ratti Renato - Frazione Annunziata, 7, 12064 La Morra (CN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
