Vietti's Barolo Brunate is a wine made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, sourced from the prestigious “Brunate” vineyard located in the commune of La Morra, on the south-facing slopes overlooking Barolo. The grapes are vinified following traditional methods: alcoholic fermentation lasts about three weeks in steel tanks, in contact with the skins, and includes both cold pre-fermentation maceration and post-fermentation maceration using the traditional submerged cap method. Malolactic fermentation occurs in wood, imparting a unique finesse to the wine. The Barolo then rests for about 30 months in large oak casks, with a small portion aged in barriques, achieving a perfect balance between freshness and complexity. In the glass, Barolo Brunate shows an intense ruby red color. Its aromatic bouquet is explosive and wide-ranging, with fruity notes of plum, citrus accents of cedar and grapefruit, enriched by spicy nuances. As the wine breathes, the characteristic violet aromas of the Brunate terroir emerge, adding extraordinary depth and complexity. On the palate, the wine is full and intense, with soft, velvety, and rounded tannins, a hallmark of the La Morra area. The mouthfeel is enveloping and harmonious, with a finish that leaves a pleasant licorice root sensation, a testament to its elegance and power. Barolo Brunate pairs beautifully with structured and complex dishes. It complements red meats such as braised beef, filet mignon, or lamb chops, as well as game dishes like wild boar, venison, and pheasant. It is also excellent with porcini mushrooms or truffles, which further enhance its structure. When paired with cheeses, it finds its ideal match in aged pecorino, Castelmagno, or Toma Piemontese—rich, flavorful cheeses that mirror its complexity. This prestigious and elegant Barolo is perfect for special occasions, such as anniversaries, weddings, or gala dinners, where its structure and depth can be fully appreciated. Due to its aging potential, it is also an excellent choice for meditation, offering a sensory experience that evolves and develops over the years. To fully enhance its aromatic complexity and tannic structure, it is recommended to serve this wine at a temperature of 18-20°C, allowing it to release its rich bouquet and elegance.
