TASTING NOTES

Spinetta is a company of great Italian prestige that has founded its roots in two important Italian regions, Piedmont and Tuscany. From the eighties the company began to work also with red berried grapes: Barbera, Barbaresco and Nebbiolo, respecting the terroir and carefully working some cru to produce excellent Piedmontese red wines. The project then continues in the 2000s in Tuscany with Casanova della Spinetta, growing Sangiovese. Barbaresco DOCG Gallina della Spinetta is produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes and ages for about 20 months in French oak barrels, of which 20% new and the remaining of the second step, aging ends in bottle for about 6 months. It is a red wine of a very bright garnet color, the intense nose with hints of undergrowth fruit, blackberry and plum that then sports in memories of mountain herbs. The taste is soft and persuasive, with elegant tannins and great body. Ideal for important occasions, it goes well with red and braised meats. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 18/20 ºC.

In the heart of Piedmont lies the La Spinetta winery, a true point of reference for the production of high-quality Piedmontese wines. Since its foundation, this family-run company has set itself the delicate goal of cultivating vines with full respect for the soil and its properties, avoiding the use of chemicals of any kind. Its organic and sustainable cultivation results in a final product of the highest quality, which will lead you to discover the most authentic side of Piedmont in every glass. Most of the vines have an average age of between 35 and 65 years: once this age is reached, it is possible to produce a wine with a compact and multifaceted taste, wonderfully complex, that will be able to tell you everything about the region in which it is born. Thanks to its strategic position and the care of the vines, the company is able to offer products such as Barolo and Barbaresco of the highest quality.
