Pinot Noir, the predominant variety in the blend, is vinified as a rosé, and only after fermentation is it blended with Chardonnay grapes, which undergo a similar process but are, of course, vinified as white wine. Once the cuvée is formed, the liqueur de tirage is added and the bottle is left to rest on the lees for around two years. 100 ml: E=335 kJ/80 kcal
The resulting wine has an elegant rosé colour with a silvery rim, enhanced by a fine, persistent perlage. The nose is immersed in cherry, strawberry and raspberry, resting on a floral bed of rose petals, before a finish that brings out notes of bread crust. An inviting, creamy palate that echoes the wild berries perceived on the nose, with a persistent finish that veers towards aromatic herbs.
Athesis Rosé is the perfect bottle for an aperitif with friends that’s a little out of the ordinary, yet it can easily accompany a dinner featuring even substantial fish and shellfish dishes.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 10–12°C.
