TASTING NOTES

Production

The Mesa estate is emblematic of the Sulcis area, where the maritime influence has a significant impact on the ripening of the grapes. A very interesting wine, Vermentino Giunco represents the expression of Vermentino di Sardegna from the southern part of the island, in its refreshing and captivating form. The sandy soils and proximity to the sea lend elegance and fruity, savoury nuances to the finish. 100 ml: E=330 kJ/79 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

Bright straw yellow in the glass, the aroma is intense with citrus zest, white-fleshed fruit, tropical fruit and balsamic notes of Mediterranean scrub and hints of the sea.

Occasion and Pairing

Its dynamic palate makes it perfect paired with fish soups, shellfish, stuffed pasta, creamy cheeses and delicate fish main courses.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Mesa

An iconic company in the Sulcis area where the marine influence has a significant impact on temperatures, mitigating the hot summer in the area. Sea breezes refreshing the vines and salty winds ensure the freshness and liveliness of Carignano's flavours and favour its delicious drinkability. In addition, the winds in this area play an important role in preventing fungal diseases caused by humidity, therefore helping to grow quality grapes. In addition to Vermentino, the Mesa company produces Carignano (known around the world as Carignan or Mazuelo), which finds great vocation along the Lower Sulcis coastal strip. Here, the particular combination of variety-territory has made Carignano truly unique. Name and address of producer/distributor: Cantina Mesa - Località Su Baroni, 09010 Sant'Anna Arresi SU. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
