To crown an unforgettable career, in 2016 Silvio Jermann was honoured in Rome by a jury of international journalists, chaired by Gambero Rosso, as the world’s most representative producer of white wines. Released in 1987 and dedicated by Silvio Jermann to U2’s album The Joshua Tree, released in the same year, it has established itself as one of the most notable Chardonnays in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, but also as one of the iconic white wines on the national scene.
The versatility of its label is fascinating; it has changed several times over the years, evoking the colours of the rainbow. But the true charm lies in the glass, where the yellow that shines is pure crystal. The nose is of rare complexity, with a perfect balance between exotic notes, melted butter, vanilla and pastry. All this is confirmed on the palate, where freshness and persistence remain unforgettable. The nearly year-long ageing in barriques is expertly managed, lending Where the Dreams hints of Burgundy.
A bottle that can grace any special occasion, pairing perfectly with fish, shellfish, molluscs, white meats and vegetables, or medium-aged cheeses.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 10–12°C.
