TASTING NOTES

Production

Veneto Chardonnay IGT is the expression of the terroir, being the only wine produced from Chardonnay grapes grown on both volcanic and limestone soils. Delicate and floral, the label features an optical illustration taken from the Encyclopédie Diderot, a vast encyclopaedia published in the 18th century that marked the beginning of a long journey aimed at creating a universal compendium of knowledge, as well as the first example of a widely distributed modern encyclopaedia. Once the Chardonnay grapes arrive at the winery, they are destemmed and processed using the non-reductive technique, i.e. without any addition of sulphur dioxide: this allows the indigenous microflora to develop and characterise the must. This is followed by several hours of skin contact, optimising the process. After static settling, the must begins fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then subjected to a brief ageing period before being bottled. 100ml: E = 318kJ/76kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it presents a bright yellow colour. Great aromatic liveliness. An intense nose of pear and Golden Delicious apple. On the palate, it is lively with notes of apple, pear and banana. The finish is fresh and persistent.

Occasion and Pairing

Ideal as an aperitif, but also excellent with tuna and swordfish carpaccio or with traditional dishes such as capelunghe and canestrelli.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.

THE WINERY

Inama

Inama is a family that produces wine for over fifty years as the only activity. The company was founded in 1948 by Giuseppe Inama who started working as a wine maker. Today the winery is led by the third generation with Stefano’s children: Matteo, Luca and Alessio. The project aims to create a unique vision of the territory, outside of styles and trend groups, working in a maniacal way in vineyards, with the aim of obtaining very expressive grapes. The company is located on the border between the municipalities of Vicenza and Verona, two close but very different territories. Having produced wines for more than half a century, Inama has developed the basic lines of its project: uniqueness of the territory, maximum expression of nature, constant improvement of the route. This territory is particularly suited to the production of Soave Classico, because it consists of volcanic soil that gives the wine unique and distinctive characteristics; mineral and floral wines, with balance and elegance, to fully correspond to the concept of wine outside the trend styles. The red wine project, started by Stefano Inama in 1996, tells of the ongoing challenge to produce Carmenere (a rediscovered variety) in the Colli Berici in Vicenza. The marine limestone and red clays of this uncontaminated nature allow the Carmenere to express itself with different nuances; from fruity to spicy to floral more delicate. Name and address producer/distributor: Soc. Agricola Eredi di Inama Giuseppe s.s. - Località Biacche, 50 37047 San Bonifacio (VR). The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
