TASTING NOTES

Production

Tradition and family: these are the two key words that sum up the vision of the Monte Santoccio Winery. The area, nestled between Lake Garda and the Lessinia mountains, has a long tradition of red wines, and is particularly famous for its red grape passito, the Recioto. Monte Santoccio’s Valpolicella Classico is a Veneto red that best reflects this tradition: produced from Corvina, Corvinone, Molinara and Rondinella grapes which, following a rigorous manual harvest, are pressed and, after fermentation, undergo a brief ageing in steel vats. Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it presents a beautiful, vibrant ruby red colour with violet hues. On the nose, it is an explosion of freshness and red fruits, a sensation that returns on the palate.

Occasion and Pairing

An excellent wine for social occasions and everyday enjoyment; we recommend serving it as an aperitif or pairing it with cold cuts and mild cheeses.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

THE WINERY

Montesantoccio

A point of reference for Sangiovese vinification in Tuscany, the Montevertine winery was born from the passion of Sergio Manetti and his friendship with the “Sangiovese whisperer” Giulio Gambelli. The reality of Montevertine was born almost as a game, as the holiday home of the industrialist Manetti where he began making wine from just a few bottles. The success of his wines soon led him to dedicate himself to them full-time. Today, his son Martino runs the company with the same enthusiasm. The monovarietal Sangiovese Pergole Torte has become not only the symbol of the winery but also one of the symbols of Sangiovese vinified in the Chianti Classico area, thanks to a unique terroir, that of Radda in Chianti, and a perfect alchemy with the work of the Manetti family. Organic farming principles are adopted for the cultivation of the 18 hectares of Montevertine vineyards, the practices of which ensure the exaltation of territorial characteristics. Montevertine wines are made even more special and recognisable by the labels used, designed by artist Alberto Manfredi. Name and address of producer/distributor: Montevertine - Località Montevertine, Radda In Chianti, Si 53017. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
