The Montevertine winery is now run by the second generation. Pure Sangiovese, Le Pergole Torte is not only the symbol of the company but also one of the symbols of Sangiovese in Italy and worldwide, vinified in the Chianti Classico area. Produced for the first time in 1977, Le Pergole Torte comes from grapes from historic vineyards, planted between 1968 and 1999. A 100% Sangiovese that carries out alcoholic fermentation in cement tanks for about 25 days, malolactic fermentation in cement tanks and then ages for 12 months in barrique of Allier, 12 months in oak barrels of Slavonia and about 3 months in bottle. For every thousandth the artistic labels are created by Alberto Manfredi in a different way. It lights up in the glass with its ruby red color, shining like precious stone. The bouquet immediately captivates for its complexity and olfactory elegance: red fruit, noble spices, cocoa, coffee on a mineral and graphite background. An aristocratic wine, which stands out in the mouth for its refined structure. Elegant, fresh and soft. Recommended in combination with roast white and red meat, poultry, game and cheese. To fully appreciate the style, Le Pergole Torte should be served at a service temperature of 16/18 ºC.
