TASTING NOTES

Production

Nino Franco’s Prosecco Valdobbiadene Superiore Extra Brut Nodi hails from the historic hills of Valdobbiadene, a wine-growing heritage of extraordinary distinction. It is made from carefully selected Glera grapes, sourced from vineyards cultivated with great attention to sustainability and yields. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the varietal’s aromatic purity. The sparkling wine is produced using the long Charmat method, which yields fine, integrated bubbles. The Extra Brut dosage expresses a dry, modern and precise style, designed to highlight freshness, elegance and the terroir. E=285 KJ/68 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

Visually, it presents a light, luminous straw-yellow colour, with a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, it is fresh and elegant, with aromas of green apple, crisp pear, citrus and white flowers, accompanied by light mineral notes. On the palate, it is dry, taut and vibrant, with marked freshness, a pleasant savouriness and a clean, crisp finish, making it highly drinkable.

Occasion and Pairing

A Prosecco of great finesse and precision, ideal as a refined aperitif but also perfect throughout a meal. It pairs excellently with fish dishes, seafood, shellfish, sushi, light starters and delicate dishes.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 6–8°C.

THE WINERY

Nino Franco

Of all the wine cellars in Lombardy, perhaps Nino Negri's is one of those that has succeeded best in combining traditional techniques with the most complex and avant-garde innovations. Between French and American oak barriques, the oldest traditions of the Valtellina region, where the winery and its vineyards have been in operation for more than a century, still find their place. After careful renovation work aimed at striking a balance between old and new, the company has created a production of high-quality grappas and Lombardy wines with a strong character and rich history. Its territory lies on the slopes of the Valtellina mountains, in an area sheltered from the north wind and exposed to the sun. The area's microclimate is exploited to the full during cultivation, in order to be able to count on excellent grapes that give the final product a class and finesse that is typical of Lombardy. Name and address of producer/distributor: Nino Negri - Via Ghibellini, 3, 23030 Chiuro (SO). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
