The Bisol winery embodies the history and essence of sparkling wine production in the Veneto region. The presence of the Bisol family on the hill of Cartizze can be traced right back to 1542. There were 21 generations before the winery’s official founding here in 1875: the winery which we still see today is carved into the hillside like the transalpine wine cellars. Today, the company has more than 20 plots of land scattered around Conegliano. They are all small undertakings where everything is done entirely by hand. This enables detailed knowledge of the land, allowing grapes with a rich aromatic profile to be obtained. The heroic viticulture here has given birth to one of the most envied vineyards in Italy: a three-hectare plot on the top of the Cartizze hill. The objective of the wine production is to enhance the natural characteristics of the grapes and soil, which is perfect for the cultivation of the Glera variety. Prosecco Valdobbiadene Superiore Brut ‘Jeio’ originates from the steep and craggy vineyards surrounding the municipality of Valdobbiadene, which have an eastern exposure at an altitude of around 200 metres above sea level. The wine is produced from a blend of Glera (80%), Pinot Blanc, Verdisio, and Chardonnay grapes. The grapes are harvested by hand. Following a first fermentation of the must in stainless steel tanks, a second fermentation, again in steel tanks, takes place, as is standard for the production of wine using the Martinotti method. In the glass, this wine has a brilliant straw yellow colour with greenish reflections along with a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it is intense and varied with hints of apple and pear, flowers, and aromatic herbs with a mineral note. It is drinkable, wonderfully fresh and simple in the mouth with a mineral taste and a long, intense finish. Bisol

The Bisol winery in the "Chartice" area, now known as the Cartizze hill, boasts a history of viticulture in Valdobbiadene that spans five centuries. Characterised by its love of the land and the fruits of the area, the winery controls 20 estates of vineyards scattered over the hills from Valdobbiadene to Conegliano. The winery's prestige also derives from the fact that it is one of the very few in the area to control all stages of production, from the vines to bottling and sales. This is one of the factors that contribute to the excellence of the Veneto sparkling wines that come from here, as well as ensuring a knowledge of the terroir that guarantees the utmost respect for the surrounding nature. The microclimate also has a great influence on the Prosecco from Valdobbiadene. A constant optimum breeze, ideal exposure to the sun and a good temperature range, together with the 300 metre altitude of the hillside, contribute to the high quality of the product. Finally, the processing entirely by hand and the differentiation of the wine according to the micro-zone of origin are additional factors that elevate this Veneto wine to an ultimate level.
