TASTING NOTES

The Rosso di Montalcino di Castelli Martinozzi comes from the most temperate vineyards of the company. Produced entirely from Sangiovese grapes, it differs from Brunello di Montalcino for the shorter aging of 2 years, in large oak barrels of Slavonia. It is a Tuscan red wine characterized by its extraordinary drinkability. With a beautiful bright ruby red color, this Rosso di Montalcino has spicy and red orange notes on the nose, which come back in a coherent way in the sip together with an acidity and a crispness that determine its markedly Tuscan character. Perfect wine for a convivial and carefree drink, ideal companion of traditional cuisine, can give its best in combination with cured meats and meat preparations with strong flavors, such as tripe Florentine or even with a sandwich to lampredotto. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Castelli Martinozzi

The Castello Bonomi estate, owned by the Paladin family, covers an area of 24 hectares in Franciacorta. The vineyards are enclosed in the marvellous natural amphitheatre of Monte Orfano, and stretch out up to 275 metres above sea level with south, south-east, south-west exposure, in the municipality of Coccaglio. Situated on hilly terrain, the vineyards enjoy a particular microclimate with cool temperate influences that gives the area specific and unique characteristics that allow the grapes to ripen in the optimum manner. The chosen cultivation system and planting layout ensure low production and high quality of the grapes, which come from French rooted vines. Harvesting is conducted entirely by hand, and the yield per hectare is deliberately low: every little detail exemplifies the high quality of each grape. Castello Bonomi owes its name to an Art Nouveau building dating back to the late 19th century: it is the only Chateau in Franciacorta, and now the headquarters of the winery, surrounded by the splendid setting of a terraced garden. The Lombardy winery's range of sparkling wines stand out for their elegance, complex character and mineral flavour, resulting from the magic of the place and the dedication of the winemaking family. Name and address of producer/distributor: Castello Bonomi - Via San Pietro, 46, 25030 Coccaglio BS. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
