TASTING NOTES

Production

Scarzello Giorgio e Figli is a family-run winery located in the municipality of Barolo. Scarzello’s Nebbiolo is the younger sibling of the estate’s Barolo, offering a more immediate and juicy profile. This Nebbiolo is produced by the Scarzello winery using grapes from vineyards situated near Sarmassa, Alba and Sinio. After harvesting, the grapes (100% Nebbiolo) are selected and crushed; the must ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, undergoing a long maceration with the skins. It is aged for 8 months in large 25-hectolitre oak barrels and 500-litre casks, and then, once bottled, undergoes a further 6 months of maturation directly in the bottle. Per 100 ml: 343 kJ/82 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

It is garnet red in colour with ruby hues. On the nose, cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry emerge, along with notes of tobacco and spice. On the palate, it is delicate and balanced, with a balsamic finish that lingers.

Occasion and Pairing

Perfect for everyday drinking and pairing with red meats; try it with cheeses, stews and pasta with meat sauce.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.
