The Franciacorta Satèn “Magnificentia” from the Uberti winery is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, sourced from the estate’s finest hillside crus, characterised by mineral-rich morainic soils. The grapes are harvested by hand, with careful selection of the bunches to ensure only the healthiest and ripest grapes are used. After gentle pressing of the whole grapes, the free-run juice ferments partly in stainless steel and partly in small oak barrels, where the wine matures on its lees until the following spring. This is followed by the second fermentation in the bottle according to the classic method, with a long ageing on the lees of at least 48 months, during which the wine develops its creamy and complex character. Disgorgement takes place without haste, with a moderate dosage that enhances the elegance and finesse typical of the Satèn style.
In the glass, it presents a bright straw-yellow colour with golden highlights and a very fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, it reveals a broad and refined bouquet, where notes of white flowers and citrus blend with hints of toasted hazelnut, brioche and vanilla, derived from the long ageing on the lees. On the palate, it is soft, velvety and beautifully balanced, with an enveloping creaminess that underpins a lively, mineral freshness. The mouthfeel is elegant and harmonious, with a long, savoury finish evoking notes of dried fruit and subtle hints of honey.
Perfect as a sophisticated aperitif, Franciacorta Satèn “Magnificentia” is enhanced by raw fish, shellfish, delicate risottos and fresh cheeses. Refined throughout a meal with white fish or white meat dishes, it is the ideal companion for celebrating important moments and memorable toasts.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.
