TASTING NOTES

The production of sparkling wine by the second fermentation in bottle method has always been maintained by ancient local families like the Ricci Curbastros. In 1967, the area’s commitment to production was recognised by law, authorising the production of Franciacorta DOC white, red and sparkling wines. From that year onwards, Azienda Agricola Ricci Curbastro was one of the first 11 producers of Franciacorta DOC sparkling wines. This Franciacorta Brut represents excellence in the panorama of Italian Metodo Classico sparkling wines. This Franciacorta Brut is a blend of 60% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Blanc and 10% Pinot Noir. After harvesting, the grapes are soft pressed before proceeding to fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. This is followed in spring by a slow second fermentation in the bottle according to the traditional Franciacorta method. The bottles remain on racks for at least 30 months, guaranteeing the unmistakable bouquet due to contact and autolysis of the yeasts. After disgorgement, with the addition of a very dry dosage syrup (only 8 g/litre), the Franciacorta undergoes further ageing in the wine cellar for a few months. Bright straw yellow in colour, the mousse is rich and abundant with a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose it is slightly floral, elegant, with considerable intensity and notes of yeast and freshly baked bread. In the mouth it is well-structured but soft and creamy, despite its dry flavour, with fruity notes and a long and balanced finish. Perfect for an aperitif with friends and as a pairing with fish and shellfish. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Ricci Curbastro

A different story. The winery of Roberto Voerzio has remained family run, where all the works of the vineyard and cellar are carried out according to experience, tradition and passion. Roberto’s wines tell a different story every year, based on the weather of the season. The terroir has changed over the years, choosing a production of wines in the most prestigious Cru for the production of Barolo, Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo. For almost thirty years, the vineyards have been cultivated with the utmost respect for nature. After each harvest, manual fertilization is carried out, chemical fertilizers, herbicides, anti-mould or other substances that interfere with the vegetative cycle of the vine and the ripening of the grapes are not used. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Voerzio Roberto Azienda Agricola - Località Cerreto 7, 12064 - La Morra (CN). The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
