TASTING NOTES

Production

Curtefranca Rosso Corte del Lupo was first produced from the 1975 harvest. These two terms are reflected in the new label, which encapsulates the essence of the terroir and the viticultural quality of Ca’ del Bosco. Corte del Lupo Rosso is made from 52% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc and 12% Carménère. The presence of Cabernet ensures the robustness essential for imparting balance and longevity. After careful selection of the grapes, which are coded and cooled in cold stores, each bunch is selected by experts, before undergoing the exclusive ‘grape spa’ – a system involving washing the bunches in soaking tanks followed by a complete drying process. This is followed by maceration on the skins, alcoholic fermentation and frequent pumping over by gravity. Thus is born Corte del Lupo Rosso, which continues its ageing in wood and steel for around 24 months. The wine is then bottled by gravity, in a natural manner. 100 ml: E=318 kJ/77 kcal

THE WINERY

Ca' del Bosco

An indisputable point of reference for Franciacorta and an example of excellence in the panorama of italian sparkling wines, Ca’ del Bosco is the protagonist of a story that smacks of fairy tales. It was the mid-sixties when Annamaria Clementi Zanella signed the deed of purchase of a small country house, in the municipality of Erbrusco, surrounded by a chestnut forest. A few years later, the intuition of her son Maurizio transformed it into one of the most famous wineries in the area. The constant search for quality pursued by Maurizio results in measures that allow the Ca' del Bosco winery to stand out from many others. The cultivation of over 200 hectares of vineyards is organized and divided respecting the characteristics of the land. Many plots are dedicated to natural cultivation, thanks to the growing adoption of sustainable practices. Furthermore, an entire area dedicated to art has been set up inside the cellar, where sculptures and other works contribute to creating the magic of the place and act as a continuous source of inspiration. The Ca’ del Bosco sparkling wines, as well as both white and red wines, are perfect for celebrating an important occasion: their unmistakable and balanced notes are the result of a skilful and measured dosage and work done with passion.
