TASTING NOTES

Production

Chianti Classico di Castello di Ama is a red wine made of freshness and harmony from which the elegant side of Sangiovese emerges. Thanks to the blend of grapes from different vineyards, their aging for 12 months in barriques and for another 12 months in bottles, this wine always manages to stand out for its fluidity, richness in structure and satisfaction of the drink 100 ml: E=329 kJ/79 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the chalice it is a brilliant ruby red, refined in the aromas that evolve from fruity notes towards deeper sensations of spices and undergrowth. The sip is fresh and firm-bodied, warm and smooth tannins. Long the fresh persistence.

Occasion and Pairing

Perfect to accompany game dishes, red meats and aged cheeses.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18°C.

THE WINERY

Castello di Ama

The Castello di Ama winery owes its origins to four families of Roman origin who, charmed by the beauty of the hills of Tuscany and united by a passion for good wine, decided to try their hand at producing Chianti in the 1970s, bringing the ancient village of Ama back into vogue. This village, a hamlet of Gaiole in Chianti, is surrounded by 75 hectares of vineyards, divided into four areas, all at an altitude of between 420 and 525 metres above sea level. The soils are rich in limestone, clay and rocks, each able to give a particular note to the different grapes that are harvested there: freshness and elegance here, harmony and power there, dotted with hints of berry fruits, tobacco, liquorice and mint. Lorenza Sebasti and Marco Pallanti, the current managers of the Castello di Ama winery, now produce labels of exceptional value, recognised and appreciated all over the world. As Marco explains, their aim is to make the uniqueness of the soil, landscape and vines perceivable with every sip of their fine red wine. Name and address of producer/distributor: Castello di Ama - Località Ama in Chianti, 53013 Gaiole in Chianti SI. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
