TASTING NOTES

Production

The second label of the Frederic Levin project, this Champagne comes from one of the most chalk-rich terroirs, where Chardonnay grapes find their fullest expression on the south-east facing slopes. The name ‘Gars’ is short for ‘Garson’ and features three stylised waiters on the label. The wine matures for around 40 months on the lees in cellars carved into the chalk. Energy per 100ml: 271kJ/65kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

A rich Champagne with a brilliant golden colour, hints of ripe fruit and dried fruit, and subtle notes of aromatic herbs such as thyme and sage. Freshness and savouriness are well-balanced, making the palate smooth but not sweet. Light effervescence and excellent length.

Occasion and Pairing

Frederic Levin’s Champagne Grand Cru Gars is excellent as an aperitif or paired with fish main courses.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.

THE WINERY

Frederic Levin

Maison Frederic Levin produces its Champagne through its own vineyards classified as Premier Cru, carrying on tradition and expertise. The grapes come from 8.5 hectares of Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards located in the three municipalities of Trois-Puits, Montbré and Cormontreuil. The Champagnes are processed and aged in the cellars dug into the chalk at a depth of eight meters: the high humidity and constant temperature allow the wines to be aged in the best conditions. Discover French champagnes, such as the Champagne Premier Cru Brut Carte Des Étoiles, from this fantastic winery. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Champagne Blondel - 11, rue du Petit-Trois-Puits - 51500 Trois-Puits - France. The products of this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
