Bollinger’s Champagne Brut Special Cuvée 007 James Bond is a special edition celebrating the historic link between the Maison and cinema’s most famous secret agent. It embodies Bollinger’s unmistakable style, built on structure, depth and complexity. The blend is composed mainly of Pinot Noir, sourced largely from the historic crus of the Montagne de Reims, with the addition of Chardonnay and a small percentage of Pinot Meunier. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified partly in small oak barrels, a distinctive hallmark of the House. A significant proportion of reserve wines, some aged for many years in magnums, lends stylistic continuity and great complexity. Secondary fermentation takes place according to the Méthode Champenoise, with a long ageing on the lees and a perfectly balanced Brut dosage.
Visually, it presents an intense, brilliant golden-yellow colour, with a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, it is broad and seductive, with aromas of ripe apple, pear, candied citrus and dried fruit, followed by notes of brioche, hazelnut, sweet spices and light toasted nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied, structured and enveloping, with a creamy effervescence, well-integrated freshness and remarkable depth of flavour. The finish is long, elegant and complex, with hints of ripe fruit and spicy notes.
An iconic and charismatic Champagne, perfect for special occasions and moments of great style. It pairs magnificently with haute cuisine dishes, shellfish, firm-fleshed fish, fine white meats and medium-aged cheeses. Also ideal on its own, for a tasting experience of great character.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.
