Bollinger's Champagne Brut La Grande Année is a vintage cuvée produced exclusively in the vintages considered exceptional, the pinnacle of the House's style. It was born from a blend dominated by Pinot Noir, largely sourced from the finest crus of the Montagne de Reims, with the addition of selected Chardonnay. The grapes are hand-picked and traditionally vinified in small oak barrels, a distinctive element of Bollinger, which gives structure and complexity. The setting of foam takes place according to the Champenois Method, with a very long aging on the yeasts that gives depth, elegance and extraordinary capacity for evolution. The Brut dosage is perfectly calibrated to enhance purity, balance and expressive power
On view it presents itself with an intense and luminous golden yellow color, crossed by a very fine and persistent perlage. On the nose it is deep and complex, with aromas of ripe fruit with yellow flesh, candied citrus and dried fruit, accompanied by notes of brioche, hazelnut, sweet spices, honey and delicate toasted nuances. On the palate it is broad, structured and enveloping, with a creamy bubble, a well-integrated freshness and great gustatory intensity. The finale is very long, elegant and persistent, with mineral and spicy returns that underline its nobility.
Champagne of great prestige and character, ideal for important occasions and memorable tasting moments. It pairs beautifully with haute cuisine, important shellfish, structured fish, noble white meats and medium-aged cheeses. Also extraordinary as a meditation wine.
To best appreciate its complexity and elegance, a service temperature of 8/10°C is recommended.
