Giacomo Conterno's Barolo Vigna Francia was born in the vineyard of the same name located in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba, one of the most prestigious crus in the Langhe. The grapes are exclusively Nebbiolo, coming from historic vineyards cultivated with low yields and great agronomic rigor. The harvest is manual and takes place at full maturity. Winemaking follows the traditional cellar method: spontaneous fermentation with long macerations on the skins in wooden vats, without corrective interventions. The aging process takes place over several years in large oak barrels, allowing the wine to develop structure, elegance, and a profound territorial identity, while maintaining a more direct and defined style than Monfortino.
On the nose it is intense and precise, with scents of ripe red fruits, cherry and raspberry, accompanied by floral notes of pink and purple. This is followed by hints of spice, licorice, tobacco and light mineral nuances. On the palate it is powerful yet harmonious, with solid and well-sculpted tannins, a lively freshness and a long and coherent taste progression. The ending is persistent, elegant and deeply expressive of the cru.
Wine of great structure and character, ideal for important occasions and dedicated lunches or dinners. It pairs perfectly with red meat dishes, roasts, braised meats, game and long-ripening aged cheeses.
To enhance its complexity and balance, a service temperature of 18°C is recommended
