TASTING NOTES

Production

Fermentation takes place in steel vats with skin contact for around 30–40 days. In keeping with the oldest traditions, the wine matures for 30 months in large 30-hectolitre Slavonian oak barrels and completes its ageing in the bottle.

Organoleptic Characteristics

It has a bright garnet-red colour; on the nose, red fruits, undergrowth, sandalwood, rhubarb, tobacco, shellac, spices and balsamic notes emerge. On the palate, it is refined, enveloping and velvety with ripe tannins; very elegant and long-lasting.

Occasion and Pairing

Perfect for a Sunday lunch and for pairing with red meats; try it with roast and grilled meats.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Scarzello

Today, Giuseppe, Gemma and Federico Scarzello nurture the philosophy that has allowed the winery to grow generation after generation: to concentrate on quality rather than taste trends, and to always safeguard the elegance and freshness of the wine so as not to forget that the soul of Nebbiolo, in Barolo, has distinct tannins. On the palate, the Scarzello family wants to convey the passion of those who produced it, their love and connection to the surrounding area. The Scarzello winery, which has been family-owned for years, is located in the heart of the Langhe, a land known for its sublime and traditional wines, which are internationally recognised. The company employs traditional techniques, therefore reflecting the authenticity and wisdom of the past, yet combined with an awareness of the present. Known for its fine Piedmontese red wines, the Scarzello winery captures and expresses the surrounding terroir to the fullest, combining tradition and modernity in the production of high-quality wines. Name and address of producer/distributor: Scarzello - Via Alba, 29, 12060 Barolo (CN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
