The Vietti winery was founded at the end of 1800 by Carlo Vietti in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto in the heart of the Barolo production area and, therefore, immersed in the Langhe. Today the name Vietti is recognized worldwide as one of the most important wine producers worldwide thanks to the work of 4 generations and, Above all, of Luciana Vietti and Alfredo Currado who introduced small great innovations such as the first production of Barolo cru, the vinification of Arneis in purity and the labels of author. The vineyards are all cultivated in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto and Barolo DOC. The main vine is Nebbiolo, responsible for the great Barolo wines, but Vietti also produce Barbera, Dolcetto and Arneis. Vietti Barolo Riserva Villero is a dry red wine produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes of the Michelet subvine harvested in the historic Villero vineyard in Castiglione Falletto of which the company cultivates about one hectare. Average age of the vines of 43 years, yield of about 50 hectoliters per hectare and production of less than 4000 bottles between magnum and regular. Fermentation in steel and aging in barrique first and in large barrels then for 27 months. Garnet red color. The nose is complex and captivating. With large and distinct notes of red and black fruit and floral touches. Dried fruit and hazelnut. Vanilla and licorice. Long finish with hints of tobacco, undergrowth, game and leather. Piedmontese red to taste to celebrate important occasions, to be breathed before drinking or observed it change in the glass. Excellent with red meat, game and stews. To fully appreciate the style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC.
