TASTING NOTES

Production

The Nebbiolo grapes are harvested entirely by hand in order to preserve their organoleptic characteristics. Once in the cellar, the must ferments in stainless steel vats and completes the ageing process after at least two years in large oak and chestnut barrels.

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it is garnet red in colour with orange highlights. The bouquet is broad, ethereal and persistent, with the fragrance of flowers and fruit blending with hints of spices and essences. On the palate, it is dry, full-bodied, robust, austere yet velvety, harmonious and very persistent. This is a wine that is ready to drink now, but which, with time, can undergo an extraordinary evolution in terms of flavour, further enhancing the spicy notes.

Occasion and Pairing

This Piedmontese red wine is perfect for a convivial family lunch, ideally served with red meat.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

THE WINERY

Bel Colle

In the splendid setting of the Langhe, in Piedmont, stands the Bel Colle farm. Since 1974, its founders, the Pontignne brothers and their friend Giuseppe Priola, have aimed to bottle excellent wines, enhancing the tradition and uniqueness of the area that hosts them. The Bel Colle vineyards extend into an area particularly suited to the production of Barolo, on a chestnut hill. The plots are located between 300 and 400 meters above sea level, enjoying favorable exposure and microclimate that give the grapes an intense and persistent aroma. In 2015, the company was acquired by the Bosio family, who applied several technological innovations to production processes, while still respecting the values always promoted by the Bel Colle winery. Large French oak barrels hold the important reds for at least five years, before they are transferred to the bottle. Sipping Bel Colle wines, you'll be enchanted by the garnet reflections and the spicy yet delicate aroma, characteristics sought after by all lovers of Piedmontese red wines. Savor the wines of the Langhe of this fantastic winery. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Bel Colle - Via Castagni, 56 - 12060 Verduno (CN). The products of this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
