TASTING NOTES

Production

Barolo Scarzello is produced from selected, hand-harvested grapes (100% Nebbiolo), usually around the first ten days of October. After the harvest, the bunches are taken to the winery to be destemmed and crushed, followed by alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. A long maceration on the skins takes place, which can last up to 50 days. The wine is then racked and aged in 600-litre oak barrels for at least 24 months, after which it is bottled and matures in the bottle for a further 24 months.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Intense garnet red in colour; on the nose, red fruits, cherry, wild strawberry and redcurrant emerge, along with notes of tobacco, lacquer and spices, giving way to balsamic hints. On the palate, it is enveloping, balanced and full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long finish.

Occasion and Pairing

Perfect for a Sunday lunch and for pairing with red meats; try it with roast and grilled meats.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti
