TASTING NOTES

Production

Vietti Barolo Cerequio is a dry red wine made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes sourced from the single-vineyard Cerequio, located in the Barolo region with vines averaging 35 years of age. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested, followed by gentle pressing and fermentation for about 3 weeks in steel vats, with maceration both before and after fermentation using the traditional submerged cap method. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in wood, and the total maturation period spans approximately 32 months in large oak barrels, allowing for a harmonious evolution of flavor and structure.

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, Barolo Cerequio presents an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it is powerful, with aromas of red fruits and delicate spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with fruity and citrus notes of strawberry, plum, and cherry. The tannins are both refined and robust, providing support to its enveloping and persistent structure. The harmony and complexity of one of the most prestigious Barolo crus stand out. The finish reveals balsamic notes that contribute to a wine of rare elegance and balance.

Occasion and Pairing

It is recommended to pair with red meats, roasts, game, or medium-aged cheeses.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16°C.

THE WINERY

Vietti

In the heart of the Langhe, an area known for the production of the traditional Barolo, Cantina Vietti has stood for four generations. However, it was in the 1960s that Alfredo Currado revolutionised wine production, from monovarietal vinification to Etichette d'Autore, original Vietti wines created by artists and inspired by a specific vintage. In the following years, the Vietti family continued along the road of experimentation in search of quality, contributing to the creation of one of the most renowned brands of Piedmontese wine made in Italy. To this day, Cantina Vietti, acquired by Krause Holdings, combines the traditions and passion carried on for generations with innovative techniques to ensure the production of high quality wines and an a href="https://www.signorvino.com/it/vini/inno_alla_natura/">viticoltura and sustainable viticulture that enhances and safeguards the surrounding terroir. The end result of the excellent Piedmontese wines produced by Cantina Vietti, which convey the love for the surrounding area and the dedication of its producers, can be appreciated on the palate. Name and address of producer/distributor: Vietti - Piazza Vittorio Veneto, 5, 12060 Castiglione Falletto (CN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
