Giuseppe Rinaldi’s Barolo Bussia hails from the historic Bussia MGA, in the municipality of Monforte d’Alba, one of the most renowned crus of the Barolo appellation. It is produced exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes sourced from vineyards cultivated using traditional, land-respecting viticulture, with low yields and a strong focus on quality. Harvesting is done by hand and vinification follows the winery’s classic style: fermentation in concrete tanks with long maceration on the skins, without excessive temperature control, to preserve authenticity and expressiveness. Ageing takes place for several years in large oak barrels, followed by a long rest in the bottle, allowing the wine to fully express the character of the cru.
Visually, it presents an intense ruby red colour with garnet highlights. On the nose, it is deep, austere and complex, with aromas of ripe cherry, plum and small red berries, accompanied by notes of wilted rose, violet, liquorice, fine spices, tobacco, undergrowth and light balsamic and earthy nuances. On the palate, it is structured and rigorous, with substantial yet noble tannins, a vibrant freshness and a deep, coherent flavour profile. The finish is long, persistent and harmonious, displaying great authenticity and the potential to evolve over time.
A Barolo of great tradition and character, ideal for special occasions and for moments of thoughtful tasting. It pairs magnificently with red meats, braised dishes, game, hearty Piedmontese dishes and mature cheeses.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.
