TASTING NOTES

Production

Yields in the vineyard are kept very low to ensure that the vines can concentrate as much as possible the aromas and substances that make the wine so precious within the berries. The harvest is carried out entirely by hand to preserve the integrity of the raw material and, after fermentation in steel vats, it ages for around two years in large wooden barrels, making this Piedmontese red wine a sincere and classic expression of what a Barbaresco should be.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Once in the glass, the colour is garnet red with hues tending slightly towards brick red. On the nose, it offers a rich, intense and complex bouquet, with notes of small red fruits, dried violets and a delicate spicy note. Hints of leather and tobacco, resulting from the ageing process, also emerge on the finish. On the palate, it is dense, powerful and assertive, pleasantly tannic, with a refreshing and savoury finish.

Occasion and Pairing

This is a perfect wine to enjoy with friends, during a hearty Sunday lunch, paired with succulent red meat.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Bel Colle

In the splendid setting of the Langhe, in Piedmont, stands the Bel Colle farm. Since 1974, its founders, the Pontignne brothers and their friend Giuseppe Priola, have aimed to bottle excellent wines, enhancing the tradition and uniqueness of the area that hosts them. The Bel Colle vineyards extend into an area particularly suited to the production of Barolo, on a chestnut hill. The plots are located between 300 and 400 meters above sea level, enjoying favorable exposure and microclimate that give the grapes an intense and persistent aroma. In 2015, the company was acquired by the Bosio family, who applied several technological innovations to production processes, while still respecting the values always promoted by the Bel Colle winery. Large French oak barrels hold the important reds for at least five years, before they are transferred to the bottle. Sipping Bel Colle wines, you'll be enchanted by the garnet reflections and the spicy yet delicate aroma, characteristics sought after by all lovers of Piedmontese red wines. Savor the wines of the Langhe of this fantastic winery. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Bel Colle - Via Castagni, 56 - 12060 Verduno (CN). The products of this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
