TASTING NOTES

Production

Bruno Giacosa’s Barbaresco Asili Riserva is a red wine of the highest quality, produced from Nebbiolo grapes from the Asili cru, in the municipality of Barbaresco, only in exceptional vintages. Vinification is carried out in the traditional manner with spontaneous fermentation and long maceration, followed by ageing for over 36 months in oak barrels and a period in bottle, which lend the wine complexity and finesse. Energy value per 100ml: 355 kJ - 86 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

It presents an intense garnet red colour. On the nose, it offers a rich and complex bouquet, with notes of rosehip, raspberry, cherry, citrus, liquorice and balsamic herbs. On the palate, the wine is elegant and structured, with velvety tannins and perfect acidity, lending balance and length to the finish. Its aromatic complexity and finesse make it a wine of great class.

Occasion and Pairing

This Barbaresco pairs beautifully with braised meats, game, roasts and mature cheeses. It is ideal for special occasions, elegant dinners and moments of wine appreciation.

THE WINERY

Giacosa Bruno

A meticulous search to find the perfect vineyard has led to the rise of Gianfranco Fino's winery, which began in 2004. Taking into account precise characteristics that could give his wine a unique personality, the choice fell on a fifty-year-old Primitivo vineyard in Puglia. Gradually, with the intention of protecting old vineyards and keeping their uniqueness alive, Gianfranco Fino's holdings have expanded to include vineyards between 50 and 90 years old, lying on red soil and rocky outcrops. Together with his wife Simona, he takes great care and attention with each vine, from which he ensures a low yield in order to preserve its exceptional nature. In the Gianfranco Fini winery, interventions are kept to a minimum, favouring only those essential to the natural enhancement of the product, in which the strong territorial identity is inherent. Gianfranco's hard work has been repaid with the great recognition obtained by his Es Primitivo di Manduria Doc, an excellent red wine, and by the title of best Apulian company obtained just a few years after he started his business. Name and address of producer/distributor: Gianfranco Fino - contrada Lella, sn, 74024 Manduria (TA). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
