TASTING NOTES

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG Case Vecie di Brigaldara takes its name from the homonymous vineyard located in the municipality of Grezzana, in Valpantena. A period of late harvesting allows to put the grapes to rest in a colder period of the year and to conduct a slow and prolonged drying over time, which develops characteristic aromas. A wine designed to enhance the natural characteristics of an altitude climate: a true Amarone delle Vigne Alte. Made from Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes, they are dried in a box of fruit. The vinification in red ensures the contact of the skins for the entire fermentation process and the extraction of color is favored by two daily pumping over and a delestage in mid-fermentation. Aged in small wood and large wood for two years. Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Case Vecie has an intense ruby red color, very ripe to the nose, almost toasted with aromas of dried cranberries, cherries and macerated figs. The palate is followed by a more fresh and sweet note, with aromas of cinnamon, pepper and tobacco. The finish is persistent with a young and full-bodied tannic component, but at the same time smooth. Perfect pairing during a family Sunday lunch maybe with a second of meat. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 14/16 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Brigaldara

With its characteristic 16th century villa surrounded by magnificent vineyards, the Brigaldara winery in San Floriano, owned by the Cesari family since 1928, dominates the Vallata di Marano, one of the four valleys of the historic Valpolicella area. The secret of these Veneto wine producers lies in the winemaking process, a crucial element of the Brigaldara identity. Supported by significant wine-makers such as Roberto Ferrarini, one of the most important innovators in the history of Amarone, the members of the Cesari family have in fact adopted important innovations for their production facilities and the cellar. Lamberto and Antonio, the current owners, encourage a specialised layout of the vineyards with constant love and passion, based on the varieties best suited to each area of their 120 hectares. So much attention makes the Brigaldara winery stand out with its unique biodiversity, respected and enhanced through sustainable practices, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, which allow them to bottle a varied wine heritage. Name and address of producer/distributor: Brigaldara - Via Brigaldara, 20 37029 - San Pietro in Cariano VR. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
