TASTING NOTES

Production

Made from Lagrein grapes, the fruit is hand-harvested and placed in small containers to keep it intact. The grapes are then destemmed and maintained at a controlled temperature of 28°C in oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation also takes place. The wine is aged in barriques for about 12 months, followed by an additional maturation of around 6 months in concrete containers. After bottling, there is a further aging period in the bottle for at least 6 months.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Urban Lagrein Riserva appears in the glass as a ruby red with violet hues, offering intense aromas of black currant, violet, and blueberry. On the palate, it showcases high tannins, finishing with a hint of bitter cocoa.

Occasion and Pairing

Excellent with flavorful soups and hard cheeses. It pairs wonderfully with stuffed pizzas or game dishes.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 14-16°C.

Cantina Tramin was founded towards the end of the 19th century, from the union of several mountain winegrowers who were looking for a way to defend their traditions and the unique characteristics of the Alto Adige region. Over the course of time, the winery has managed to produce some of the Trentino wines of the highest quality, such as the famous Gewürztraminer. Precisely because of this, the company has also managed to distinguish itself as one of the most important wine producers in Italy and the world, and is still one of the reference points for winegrowers in Trentino.
