TASTING NOTES

Production

During the harvest, the grapes are carefully selected, and after destemming, the berries are pressed, resulting in a must that ferments in stainless steel containers, where pump-overs are frequent. The aging process follows, with the wine resting for 12 months in barriques until bottling operations begin.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Tor di Lupo presents in the glass with a typically ruby color, featuring purple hues at the rim. The nose reveals strong notes of very ripe red fruit, enhanced by touches of spices and resins, leading to an olfactory finish with hints of bitter chocolate. On the palate, it is well-bodied and immediately announces a pleasant freshness, with a tannic sip that continues into a finish with excellent persistence.

An excellent bottle to pair with a meat-based pasta dish or with game.

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16-18°C.

THE WINERY

Terlano

Cantina di Terlano was founded towards the end of the 19th century and has since distinguished itself as one of the most progressive winegrowers' cooperatives in the whole of Alto Adige. The commitment and hard work of its members has been pursued with passion, always keeping faith with their traditions, to ensure the production of wines from Alto Adige that best represent the characteristics of the region. Today, the members of the winery cultivate around 165 hectares of vineyards, with an annual production of more than one million bottles per year. Such a large production can count on the valuable support of a dense network of knowledge and know-how handed down from generation to generation, and the constant study of the most modern techniques. Only DOC wines are matured in the current company, divided between 30% of red wines and 70% of white wines, presented to the public in three different lines: the Selections, the Vineyards and the Classics.
