TASTING NOTES

Brunello di Montalcino Poggio al Ginepro ages in 50 hectolitre Slavonia oak barrels for 24 months and 12 months in a concrete tank. Made of 100% Sangiovese grapes, it is presented in a glass of intense ruby red color with garnet hues. It opens immediately to the rich and complex nose: with notes of dark cherry, chinotto and violet. In the mouth it is fresh, silky and elegant, with a precise tannic structure. The finish is very persistent with a pleasant cherry and chocolate aftertaste. Perfect combinations with the Brunello Poggio al Ginepro can be game dishes such as stracotti, braised, based on wild boar, guinea fowl or duck but also roast veal and pork. To fully appreciate the style, this wine must be served at a serving temperature of 14/16°C. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Val di Suga

The history of Val di Suga began in 1969, when a company owned by Aldo Moro acquired farmland north of Montalcino and planted the first hectares of rows. In 1982, Val di Suga started wine production, equipping itself with a vinification winery. The first vintage to enter the market is the Val di Suga Brunello Riserva 1977. Rapid viticultural and oenological growth began immediately. Since 1994, the Angelini Group has been giving a new impetus to Val di Suga, which is now award-winning and internationally recognised for the high-quality of its wines. Name and address of producer/distributor: Val di Suga - Località Val di Cava, 53024 Montalcino SI. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
