The company history began in 1823, when Johann Lageder, apprentice artisan, started trading wines in Bolzano. His sons and nephews decided to buy some vineyards and produce wine themselves. Today, the family's 50 hectares of vineyards are cultivated entirely using the biodynamic method. An important objective of biodynamics is the full natural cycle. The farm functions as an organic microcosm, where a wide variety of plants and animals coexist alongside humans. The winery is located in Magrè, on the outskirts of Bolzano, producing around 1.5 million bottles per year in three different lines, from around 170 hectares of vineyards. The result of a blend, Porer is made from 100% Pinot Grigio grapes, one part of which is vinified immediately, another part remains in contact with the skins for 15 hours and a third part remains in contact with the stems and skins for a year. Every year, driven by the pleasure of experimentation and an innovative spirit, Alois Lageder seeks the best way to integrate various components to create an elegant, fresh and precise wine. Yellow in colour with greenish reflections, on the nose it reveals fruity aromas of peach and melon, accompanied by spicy and mineral nuances. Full-bodied yet very lively, fresh and fruity bouquet. Recommended with a wide range of cured meat starters, or with delicate shellfish, white meat and poultry dishes.
