TASTING NOTES

Lagrein In Case di Sete is produced from the homonymous Lagrein grapes, a red berried grape variety among the most important in South Tyrol. The interventionist low vinification of Patrick Uccelli aims only to slightly blunt the tannic character, keeping its intense color intact, fruity hints of forest and green tannins. It refines in steel with short passage in large wood. The mouthfeel is fresh and fruity, supported by vibrant tannins and a pleasantly spicy finish. It goes well with cold cuts and semi-aged cheeses as well as tasty dishes made from red meat. To fully appreciate the style, this wine should be served at a service temperature of 16/18°C. THE WINERY

Ansitz Dornach Patrick Uccelli

Patrich took over the small plots of land in Dornach from his mother and began overseeing the vineyards, approaching biodynamics and becoming one of Alois Lageder's first members of the co-operative. For about 10 years now, he has been bottling his own wines following his idea of “sustainable wines”, whereby he tries to go beyond biodynamics by creating a farm that is as self-sufficient as possible. The location above the village of Salorno, a particularly cool and windy area at the bottom of Alto Adige, favours slow and balanced maturation. Everything in the winery is done with as little intervention as possible in order to keep the wines as light and drinkable as possible. Name and address of producer/distributor: Tenuta Dornach, via Dorna, 12, 39040 Salorno (BZ). Products should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
