The Masone Mannu winery is located in northern Sardinia, in the Gallura region, where biodynamic farming is practiced on decomposed granite soils with the aim of further enhancing the area's unique character. Petrizza is made from 100% Vermentino grapes grown on Guyot-trained vines with a planting density of 4,000 vines per hectare. The grapes are hand-harvested into crates during the first half of September, with an average yield of 80 quintals per hectare. Gentle pressing is followed by fermentation at controlled temperatures. The wine is then aged for at least three months on its fine lees and for an additional month in bottle before being released to the market.
Its bright, lively straw-yellow color is an invitation to drink. The nose reveals fruity and citrus aromas that lead seamlessly to the palate, where the wine is fresh, savory, and long-lasting, with a persistent finish.
With an almond aftertaste, it is a wine well suited for a perfect Sardinian aperitif or paired with seafood dishes typical of this part of Sardinia.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 12–14°C.
