TASTING NOTES

Production

Schiopetto’s Venezia Giulia Rivarossa comes from vineyards situated on the Collio hills, in a region characterised by mineral-rich ponca soils, ideal for the development of white grapes of great elegance. The wine is made primarily from Pinot Bianco grapes, with small additions of other selected indigenous white grape varieties. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness, aroma and varietal integrity. Ageing takes place in stainless steel on the fine lees, with periodic bâtonnage, which imparts structure, smoothness and complexity without compromising the wine’s characteristic liveliness.

Organoleptic Characteristics

It has a bright straw-yellow colour. On the nose, it is elegant and refined, with aromas of white-fleshed fruit, apple, pear and citrus, accompanied by light floral and mineral notes typical of the Collio terroir. On the palate, it is fresh and harmonious, with good structure, balanced flavour and a long, persistent finish that echoes the fruity and mineral notes perceived on the nose.

Occasion and Pairing

A versatile wine with character, ideal as an aperitif or throughout a meal. It pairs perfectly with fish dishes, shellfish, vegetable starters, delicate pasta dishes, and fresh or medium-aged cheeses.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 10–12°C.

THE WINERY

Schiopetto

Schiopetto is a symbol of Friulian excellence, synonymous with elegance, precision, and respect for the land. Founded in the 1960s by Mario Schiopetto, considered one of the fathers of modern Italian white wine, the winery revolutionized the way native grape varieties of Friuli Venezia Giulia are interpreted, elevating them to new levels of finesse and international recognition. Located in Capriva del Friuli, in the heart of the Collio area, the estate continues to follow its founder’s vision through a project that blends tradition and innovation, always guided by a deep connection with the territory. Schiopetto’s production philosophy is based on a respectful approach to nature and meticulous attention to every stage of the process, from vineyard to bottle. The vineyards extend over marl and sandy soils rich in minerals, which give the wines their unmistakable freshness, sapidity, and longevity. Among the cultivated varieties stand out the typical grapes of the region, Friulano, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon, and Chardonnay, pure and vibrant expressions of the land. In the cellar, winemaking is carried out with precision and sensitivity: controlled fermentations, balanced use of steel and wood, and long aging periods that allow the wines to develop complexity and harmony while preserving their natural elegance. Every bottle of Schiopetto embodies the essence of Collio: a perfect balance of tradition, identity, and contemporary style, capable of conveying the greatness of Friuli Venezia Giulia in every glass. Producer/distributor name and address: Società Agricola Terre Friulane S.r.l. - Via Palazzo Arcivescovile, 1, 34070 Capriva del Friuli (GO). The cellar products should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources.
