Cantina Speri, founded in the mid 19th century, is recognised as a historic winery Valpolicella and is still today a reference point for quality viticulture. The company works with extreme care and attention to the product, vinifying only its own grapes and keeping chemical treatments to a minimum. Valpolicella Classico Superiore Sant'Urbano is made from Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara and Oseleta grapes grown in the Sant'Urbano vineyard in the Fumane valley. After rigorous selection, the grapes are lightly dried and vinified in stainless steel. The wine then matures for about 18 months in Allier oak tonneaux. In the glass, we can observe a wine with an intense, deep ruby colour. On the nose it brings out hints of red berry fruit such as black cherry, currants and hints of vanilla. In the mouth, it is warm and has a full body, with a pleasant softness, freshness and a slight tannic texture. It is recommended as a pairing with blue cheeses, stewed white and red meat, or complex risottos.
