Tignanello is a high-quality Tuscan red wine, produced by the Antinori family at the Tignanello Estate in Chianti Classico. It is one of the pioneers of the Super Tuscans, blending Sangiovese with international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled tanks, followed by 12 months’ ageing in French and Hungarian oak barriques, with a further period in the bottle. Tignanello has an intense ruby red colour. On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet with notes of ripe red fruits, such as plum and blackberry, accompanied by hints of sweet spices, vanilla and liquorice. On the palate, it is a structured and harmonious wine, with soft tannins and good acidity that supports its balance, culminating in a long and persistent finish.
This wine pairs perfectly with roasts, braised meats, game and mature cheeses. It is ideal for special occasions, elegant dinners and moments of wine appreciation.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 18–20°C.
