Tenuta di Trinoro was born from the intuition of Andrea Franchetti who in the nineties entered the world of wine production, buying a disused farmhouse near the town of Sarteano. In this property Andrea Franchetti decides to plant international varieties and to apply what he had learned from the great masters of Bordeaux, with the aim of maintaining a high quality of products, low yields, and carrying out a drastic thinning of the bunches harvesting only at full phenolic ripeness. This allows a very high concentration of substances within the chosen bunches, fundamental to express the relationship and harmony between the soil, the vine and the climate. Tenuta di Trinoro’s Supertuscan is a blend from the Bordeaux cut, produced in vintages with different percentages of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, provienti from soils of clay prevalence, with the presence of limestone and quartz. The harvest is manual and, after alcoholic fermentation, the wine rests for 8 months in French oak barrels and for another 11 months in cement tanks. To the glass the wine appears of a concentrated ruby red color, with slight garnet reflections. The nose is incredibly colorful: from notes of ripe red fruits, to floral hints of dried lavender, with intense tones of juniper and marjoram. In the mouth it is full and enveloping, thanks to the fine and elegant tannins, and a fresh sip, almost citrus. Of incredible persistence in the finish. Perfect for great occasions, also ideal for collectors, it goes well with red meat dishes accompanied by truffles. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC.
